Mid-America Theatre Conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

In the spring of 20187, Milbre will finish her two-year term as co-convener of the Playwriting Symposium of the Mid-America Theatre Conference with this year's conference, titled "Spin," held at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee.

The Playwriting Symposium features vetted 10-minute plays in staged readings, sessions pairing a playwright and a dramaturg discussing a vetted full-length play script, a Fringe Festival with cold readings of 10-minute plays and a play devised during the conference.

In addition, the Playwriting Symposium is co-sponsoring a roundtable with the Pedagogy Symposium, titled "A Different Spin: the pedagogy of women's playwriting."

The Playwriting Symposium is also co-sponsoring a panel with the Practice/Production Symposium, titled "How to Report (Spin) the Creative Work and Scholarship of Theatre Practitioners for Tenure and Promotion Cases at your Institution."

PowellsWood Garden Storytelling Festival in Federal Way, WA (Seattle Area)

Milbre will be a featured teller at the Seventh Annual PowellsWood Garden Storytelling Festival in Federal Way, WA (south of Sea-Tac). She will perform three half hour sets, one 60 minute set and an olio on Saturday.

In addition, Milbre will offer an intensive workshop called "Don't Just Do Something, Stand There: Movement and Stillness in Storytelling."

The lineup also includes: Donald Davis, Anne Rutherford, Bil Lepp, Bobby Norfolk and Sherry Norfolk.
